New Research: Stem Cell Transplant Cures Woman Living With HIV

Use of stem cells for research has not be conducted without its share of controversy.  New research using a new transplant method involving umbilical cord blood, presented at this year’s virtual Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (February 12-16), provides hope for placing more people living with HIV in remission. More notably, this research has the potential for impacting the lives of those with racially diverse backgrounds.
