The ACSR’s recent publication in the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) entitled “Manual Construction of a Tissue Microarray using the Tape Method and a Handheld Microarrayer” is now PubMed indexed and its corresponding experimental methods video available for viewing on JoVE. This article and video is a “How-to” outlining TMA construction using the fully manual tape method protocol. The protocol also focuses on the importance of pathological guidance pre-construction and how incorporating pathological guidance throughout a project, and not just at the construction stage, is critical to ensure the tissue of interest is present in the TMA tissue cores as the TMA block is progressively sectioned. The ACSR shared this method to demonstrate the rigor and review each and every block undergoes during the construction process at the ACSR. We also wanted to highlight this protocol as a quick and easy method that can be established in most labs.
